How information is deleted on the Social Cognitive platform (the Service), what exactly is removed, and how long it takes.
Your rights and the legal basis for each processing activity are in the Privacy Notice. This document is only the procedure.
1. Pick your case
| If you want to... | Go to |
|---|---|
| Delete your account and everything attached to it | Section 2 |
| Delete specific results without closing your account | Section 4 |
| Have your information removed even though you have no account, because you appeared in an analysis | Section 5 |
2. Deleting your account from the Service
It takes two steps.
Step 1. Sign in and open Edit profile. Below your details you will find Delete Account.

Step 2. Confirm in the dialog. Delete carries out the closure; Changed my mind cancels it with no consequences.

On confirming you are returned to the home page and your session ends.
If you would rather not do it yourself, write to manager@socialcognitive.app from the address you registered with and we will handle it.
3. What exactly happens when you confirm
Immediately:
- The account is deactivated and can no longer be used.
- All open sessions are revoked, on every device, not just the one where you requested it.
- If you signed in with Google or another provider, you can no longer sign in that way. The stored link is deleted when the suppression becomes definitive.
- If your account gave access to other services sharing the same sign-in, those connections are also revoked and the credentials stored for them are no longer used.
When the grace period ends, which is 14 days, deletion becomes irreversible:
- Registration data: name, email and credentials.
- Profile, preferences and settings.
- Assistant conversations, and the analyses, reports and charts you generated.
- The information you collected through the Service and the audiences derived from it.
- Files you uploaded or that the Service generated for you.
The grace period exists in case the closure was a mistake or an unauthorised access. During those days you can ask us in writing to reverse it, and we will once we have confirmed the account is yours — there is no button to undo it, and that is deliberate: whoever got in without permission would simply use it again. Once the period expires, there is no copy to restore.
What is retained, and why it is not an arbitrary exception:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Billing records | Accounting and tax obligations: article 60 of the Colombian Commercial Code requires a trader's books and papers to be kept | 10 years from the last entry |
| Record of which version of the Terms and the Notice you accepted, and when | It is the evidence article 26 of Decree 1377 requires us to be able to produce | For as long as data collected under that version is processed |
| Security logs | Investigating incidents and preventing abuse | Short periods |
| Third-party deletion requests | So we do not collect again from someone who objected; the minimum needed to recognise them is kept | For as long as the exclusion operates |
4. Deleting results without closing your account
From within the Service you can delete individual search sessions, reports, charts and conversations. Doing so also deletes the collected data attached to that work.
Deleting a result does not undo what you already exported or downloaded: those copies are under your control and it is for you to remove them.
5. If you have no account and your information was collected
This is the most important case in this document, and the one the previous version did not cover.
If your public information turned up in an analysis run through the Service, you can ask for it to be deleted even if you never had an account and do not know which customer instructed the collection.
Write to manager@socialcognitive.app pointing at the profile or the content. That is all we need: identifying the controlling customer is our job.
What we do:
-
We acknowledge receipt of your request.
-
We check that the profile is yours. We do not ask for photo ID: it would be disproportionate for something that is public, and it would make us collect new data from you when what you are asking for is the opposite. It is enough to show that you control that profile, by whichever of these suits you best:
- write to us from the email shown on the profile itself;
- post a code we give you on it temporarily, and tell us when it is up;
- send us a direct message from that profile to the account we indicate.
If the content you point to identifies you unambiguously and there is no reasonable doubt, we ask for nothing further.
-
If the processing is controlled by a customer, we handle it anyway and inform them. We do not send you off to start again with them.
-
We carry out the deletion across the whole platform: your information is removed from stored results and from derived audiences.
-
You are excluded from further collections, so the same search will not bring you back.
-
We confirm the outcome to you.
One clarification about what we do not tell you. Until the check in step 2 is done, we do not confirm whether your information was on the platform or not. This is not evasion: answering that to someone who has not yet shown they are the data subject would turn this channel into a way of finding things out about other people, which is the opposite of what it exists for.
Timescales: queries are answered within ten business days and claims within fifteen business days, extendable under Law 1581. Under the GDPR, one month extendable by two more. It is free.
What we cannot do: delete your original post from the social network where you wrote it. That is in that platform's hands, not ours. What we do delete is the copy the Service collected and everything derived from it.
6. If you ask for deletion and then change your mind
The exclusion from further collections can be lifted by writing to the same address. Information already deleted is not recoverable: no copy is kept to restore it from.
